New content for JIL 1.2 spec and support for Android devices

May 4, 2010

We’ve just uploaded a number of new resources on our developer.vodafone.com website.

The key updates include new content for JIL 1.2 spec and also support for Android devices. Below is a list of the new resources and where you can access them,

  • Updated API reference document covering JIL 1.2 API supported in Vodafone devices that will become available this summer. The updated API document can be found here
  • A set of Adobe Illustrator templates enabling you to quickly start designing your widget, with exact viewports for your widget icon, extended mode (if supported), and fullscreen mode. The templates included are for the Vodafone 360 H1 and M1 by Samsung and newly supported Android devices. The Illustrator files can be found here, and can also be opened with a pdf reader.
  • Availability of Android devices running the widget manager on our Perfecto Mobile system. The widget manager on these devices is based on the same Opera browser engine used in the widget manager for S60, and supports widgets packaged in both Opera and JIL 1.2 formats. The Perfecto Mobile system can be accessed here and the list of added Android devices is,

o         SEMC Xperia X10

o         SEMC Xperia X10 mini

o         SEMC Xperia X10 pro

o         HTC Desire

o         HTC Legend

  • A debug enabled version of widget manager for Android 1.6 and 2.1 devices. This will be coming soon and we’ll let you know once it’s available.
